Announcing CRILS 2025-2027

CRILS 2025-27 invites academics and practitioners to develop critical and imaginative work that counters the dominance of industrial animal agriculture.

    Online Workshops

An inclusive space to share research and frontline work and to learn from and connect with other CRILS members. We are always looking for co-organisers to develop critical and engaging workshops with us.

    In Person Workshops

Building on our formative workshops in 2024 and 2026, which brought together 30 and 50 academics and practitioners, respectively, our next in-person workshop will be in 2027. Call for submissions will be announced in our newsletter.

  • A group of chickens behind a wire fence in a farm or coop.

    Working Groups

The Methods Working Group focuses on questions of data and methods that can be employed across different scales and sites of industrial livestock systems.
The Labour Working Group explores how industrial livestock systems rework forms and regimes of labour worldwide, critically examining labour forms systematically disregarded in industrial production spaces.

  • A diverse group of people attending a meeting or workshop in a conference room, seated in a circle, with a woman standing near a whiteboard covered with colorful sticky notes and handwritten notes.

    Local Meetings and Panels

We regularly host meetings in London and at conferences to foster deeper regional relationships. Get in touch to propose your own local gathering or a side event at a conference related to animal agriculture.
